The Blue Caves, also know as Blue Grotto located
close to the village of Agios Nicolaos. It is famous for the
spectacular colours of the walls and the sea bottom as a result of
the early morning light reflections.

| The church of Agios Dionysios (St.
Dennis) located in the harbour of Zakynthos Town. Agios
Dionysios is the patron saint of the island. A patronal
feast is held and his holy relic is paraded through the town on
the 24th of August and the 17th of December to celebrate his
memory. |

The entance to the Venetian Castle
overlooking Zakynthos Town. There are three gates, in
succession. Above the third was the lion of Venice, the
emblem of the Serenissimo Republic.

The cenotaph of the Italo-Zakynthian poet Hugo
Foscolo. It is located at the original site of his house.

The Post-Byzantine Museum located in the center of
Zakynthos Town besides Solomos square. On the ground floor
there is a model of the old town. The museum contains a
large number of paintings and wood-carvings that date from
Byzantine era to the 19th century.

The statue of the Zakynthian poet Dionysios
Solomos located in Solomos square. Solomos wrote the
"Ymnos is tin eleftherian" which was to become the
National Anthem of Greece after Greece gained its indepedence from
the Ottoman Empire.
